Stupid TV

Why do they feel it is necessary to interrupt my shows to tell us it is raining?  Like I couldn't open a window and see that for myself?

I don't really know if I hope they get paid well...

I think it'd be depressing to learn how much they get paid. Especially on those days where they said it would be sunny so you've planned outdoor things and it rains all day

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
This is true. One of those things it's best not to know.

And I love when they comment on how wrong they were the other day, "well, oops, we thought it would do this but Mother Nature did the exact opposite, who would have guessed?" Welll, we were hoping, since you had a degree and fancy computers and all, that you WEREN'T guessing!

We were hoping you were using science, here, but apparently not.

First winter in MN they predicted a light dusting of snow, maybe up to 3 inched. we got 33 inches. They were off by TWO AND A HALF FEET. and kept their jobs. unreal.

It's become infamous- the "Halloween Snowstorm" lasted three days.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 10:08 pm (UTC)(link)
massively. We got another snowstorm for thansgiving too. It was a very snowy year.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Did it at least snow during December, too?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
probably- I don't remember, for the most part, once you get a big snowfall it sticks around and you have snow cover till March

Except for in Seattle, where it's usually gone within a week.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
that was how snow was in NY where I grew up. I like MN better- if it is gonna be cold at least it'll be pretty

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
WA isn't the same all over?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 11:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Nope. It's actually much more likely to accumulate the further east you go. Spokane gets the most.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-08 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
oh- away from the ocean and closer to the mountains, makes sense. is that where you're from?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm more from the central part of Washington, but two of my brothers went to college in Spokane and the oldest one lives there, now. He always calls and mocks me when he sees it's "snowing" in Seattle.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
snowing in seattle= less than 1" accumulation?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-07-09 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Especially considering that, meanwhile, he's usually sitting in several inches worth that has been there for most of the week.
