If you're curious if a pan that's been in the oven for an hour is hot the answer is yes.

I am an idiot.

well, my mom wasn't thrilled with mousy and kind of didn't want him roaming free in the house. When he got out the only think that would lure him out of hiding was corn flakes. I have *no* idea why I remember that- it was more than 20 years ago

Bwahaha! When the ferret would roam the house, my mom would walk on the furniture. And yell for me. First, middle, and last name. And you know what that means. *g*

Aww, I can imagine your mouse not being able to resist the corn flakes.

oooh- all three names- that is SO not a good sign.. and when they stretch each word out? even worse!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
and then there's THAT LOOK. the one that goes straight through you and makes you feel two feet tall

My mother had The Eyebrow. Once the eyebrow went up, there'd better be some behavior improvement immediately.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
ooooh. I fail in the evil look department. *sulks*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 04:55 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, me too. Nobody's scared of me.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
But you don't have munchkins. Shouldn't there be some sort of 'how to squint just so and get your kids to shut up and obey' sort of manual somewhere?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
There really, really should. *nods*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 04:58 am (UTC)(link)
of course such a manual has great potential for evil as well. think of all the ways to misuse it?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
there are some skills that the masses should not have access to

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
You know what skill I want? The pick-the-fastest-line-at-the-store skill. *nods*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
omg yes, as opposed to my typical skill of pick-the-line-where-the-cashier-can't-scan-a-thing-correctly

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
Mine today was pick-the-line-where-everybody-wants-to-argue-about-prices. Pick-the-line-where-you-need-the-supervisor-constantly. *sigh*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
oh yes, and then there's the line where the person waits to find their checkbook until the cashier's all done and then asks 5x what the ammount was and if she can write the check for over that... or the wait a minute I forgot the whatnot line...

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Especially to the forgot-and-have-to-go-get-stuff. I've seen blessedly few check-writers in the last few years.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
true- they are a dying breed. It's checkcards and credit cards these days. what would we do without those lovely cards?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:12 am (UTC)(link)
I love my debit card. Well, I love my credit cards for emergencies.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
I use credit card instead of a debit card, but it's great- i don't need to worry about carrying around cash and I can earn $$ back

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:16 am (UTC)(link)
I loved my credit cards more when I wasn't running a balance on two of them. Ah, well, I'll get caught up eventually.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:17 am (UTC)(link)
ah- yes that could be a problem. I'm a terrible tightwad, I always pay it off in full

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2008-09-25 05:19 am (UTC)(link)
I never used to carry a balance on them. And then I was out of a job for a good long while. I'll get them paid off, though.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-09-25 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
no income could be a problem, considering you still need things like food and housing and whatnot.

I was lucky- although there's been periods on unemployment we had decent savings to fall back on and I can make the most out of a very little bit of money.

I'm sure you'll get it paid off. You;re responsible like that
