oh crap

Election crap isn't over the MN - the senate race is too close to call:
1,210,790
42%
1,210,028
42%
437,146
15%

with 99% of precincts reporting. That means there will be a recount and a serious look at the absentee ballots and....

*VERY BIG SIGH*

eta- As of 6pm the race is 121644 for Coleman and 112167 for Franken so the margin is 477 votes!!!

Coleman has declared victory (of course) but come on- 477 votes out of 2.9 million? It really shows what an independent candidate can do- 400+k votes going to someone else could have thrown the race either way.

I see many recounts on this one.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
The state mandates a recount when there's less than .5% difference, this time there was less than .04%. *sigh* and there's a couple of cases of voter irregularities and tampering... it'll never end

Like I said, I totally feel your pain. I recommend lots of coffee and donuts.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
will coffee and leftover halloween candy do?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Depends on the Halloween candy, but I think your good.

Yelling at the TV, however, is just counter-productive.

reece's pb cup? I couldn't resist buying an entire bag for 50 cents

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually think that might be better than donuts. Possibly. But only by a very slim margin.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
fresh donuts? with chocolate icing? no contest. But other than that. you may be right

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, I won't argue with that. Of course, the holiday shaped peanut butter cups have pretty much no competition.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 04:55 pm (UTC)(link)
oh those are the BEST. Every easter (well, day after) I go and buy TONS of the egg ones

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
There's so much peanut butter in them. It's so tasty.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
they are THE BEST. *sigh* I WANT

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
Me too. Instead, I'll just have to settle for chocolate chip cookies.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
oooh, sounds yummy! *eyes cookies for the bat mitzvah* ehhh, no. I'll be good enjoy!

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
You could always have a nice cup of coffee, instead.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
true, true... or the half bag of reese's pb cups that's left

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Did I say half bag? bwhahahaha

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I made those chocolate chip cookies and then promptly hid them before anyone else got home. I would feel more terrible if I hadn't already shared a cake with them this week.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
well hidden cookies are key! and sneaky

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Well hidden cookies and chocolate.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 03:30 pm (UTC)(link)
oh yes! add in coffee and you have it made!
