I like peanut butter

I like my cat.

I do not like peanut butter ON my cat.

Bloody evil fuzzbutt.

they better be raking it in or I'm going to be very disappointed!

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
They'd better be! And they can just bring my art muse home with 'em when they're done.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
oh no, your art muse too? At least I'm still mucking about with icons. somewhat. a little. *sighs* Who am I kidding, I've been screwing up soup, failing at baking and playing solitaire all day

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:18 am (UTC)(link)
You fixed your soup! And the baking had cat interference. And change solitaire to hidden object games and I've spent many a day like that.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
the soup wound up being *meh* and there's 80 tons of it. well a lot. the 12 pot is mostly full so... 10 quarts of stew? And the brownies didn't come out right, I have no idea why.

Somedays. *sighs*

what are you up to tonight?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
*pets you*

Alternately poking at WiPs and photoshop. You?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
*perks ears* WIPS?

I made some icons for [livejournal.com profile] findyourwords and stared at an empty word doc. Just not in a good way today

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
That's an interesting comm. Um, well, I say WiPs, but "progress" may be overstating a bit.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I signed up. with an impossible word count. I am officially crazy.

Sometimes opening WiPs is progress enough. It makes them still active and come alive again in your head, even if its only rereading it

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:42 am (UTC)(link)
What's your goal?

This is true. *crosses things*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
I did 77k last year and was going to sign up for 80 but then went nuts and said 100. INSANE I TELL YOU. INSANE.

*offers carrots to your plotbunnies*

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you can do that! *nods* In what, a year? *does math* 8000-and-a-bit words a month. ...OK, that's kind of a lot. But dude, so is 77,000, so it's very possible. Especially with the potential for a couple of really long fics. (The SPN crossover and tardis_bigbang.)

bunnies *appreciate the carrots*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
If I don't manage a big bang I am screwed though. I can knock off ficlets like nobody's business, but 100k is a LOT of ficlets!

I should change it to 80 or 85k

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
80 or 85 this year and 100 next year, maybe?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
maybe. I think there's one more opportunity to change your word count before you're set in for the year. I'll lower it because reaching 80 or even 85 seems doable but 100 seems INSANE.

I don't know what happened to my ability to come up with long stuff. I had Pants!verse and my first miss maggie and all those OldMan stories my first year of writing (well half year- 2007) and then- other than big bang- had very very few things over 3k, let alone 4 or 5. not sure why.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
I feel like I've used all my ideas up, sort of. I need new canon or a new fandom or something.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 04:21 am (UTC)(link)
That helps. I've NCIS and now SPN to play in. Heck, I clanked out that 4k Dean as a dog fic in a day and a half right after I started in that fandom.

I poked around recently, looking up prompt/challenge communities and nothing looked helpful.

New canon could help- or old canon you haven't seen before. Is there any DW's you've missed?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
I haven't seen much Seven at all, and he's supposed to be devious enough that it might kick my brain into gear again. *ponders*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yes! Ace FTW!

You HAVE seen Survival, right? With the Master all cateyed and able to teleport or whatever?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Oh that's right, I remember we discussed if he had the ability to teleport in time back then. Ooh, Leopard!Ainley meeting Jack. Or Five!

Have you seen every Master serial?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
I want Cheetah!Master/Nine. *nods*

Um, all but Trial of a Time Lord. Long serial is long. But the Valeyard's in it, too, so I should watch it someday.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-01-16 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Cheetah! Why did I say leopard? Silly donutsweeper.

long serial is long and has Peri which makes it that much longer

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_medley_/ 2009-01-16 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Well, y'know, spotted cats. It probably didn't make any difference to the Master.

And Mel, from what I understand. Although I've never seen Mel, so I don't know if she's as bad as people say.
