I think Gwen will eventually track it down, with the help of PC Andy (she found Jack's wrist strap, didn't she?) and keep some of the TW work going, minor problems, to be sure, she's only one person. Or maybe she'll find it and toss it into the garage, and never look at it again. Either way, I'm betting she gets it back somehow.
If Andy was okay. The 6 month later thing bugged me because they didn't go into anything that happened- were Andy and Ianto's BIL okay? How is the world reacting to what happened? What happened to Myfanwy? The archives? Janet?
But yes, I'll happily sit back and assume those sorts of things were taken care of. Somehow.
The six month jump was very abrupt, but I see why it needed to happen. If we hadn't jumped six months, it would have been a six- or seven-hour miniseries instead. There's a whole series you can make about the world going to hell during those six months.
But somehow, it came out fine. For Gwen and Rhys, at least.
Yes! The coral! What about the people in cold storage? Is Grey dead now? What about Jack's metal box of memories- the picture of him and his wife and what not? His TARDIS key?
My canon for this: The baby TARDIS sensed the danger and did her first time and space jump out of harm's way, kind of like a baby bird flying when pushed out of the nest. I think she jumped to the next safe point where she could find the one he'd imprinted on. In other words, she's waiting for Jack in his quarters on that cruiser.
Betcha that the TARDIS key got swept up in the wake of her jump and is there too.
I *really* wish the SUV storyline hadn't happened. It's just... lame. Have Ianto drive his own car and have it stolen and have the SUV get destroyed in the bombing. Was it necessary to have Ianto look dumb, Torchwood look unprepared and have this dangling plot thread?
Myfanwy has to be okay. I can't believe otherwise.
Myfanwy will be fine - she can fly after all - and the bomb went off while it was still dark and she would have been out on the 'rounds' of her territory. I can imagine her being most dischuffed at the mess of the Hub...
I think they were trying to set up exactly how rough the area where Johnny and Rhiannon were living was. That makes scenes such as the kids rocking the car with the surveillance team or the local adults attacking armed police more plausible. After that things moved too fast for them to worry about a car.
I thought of that- that they were trying to show us that it was a 'bad' neighborhood. But, it could have been Ianto's own car that got stolen, not the TW SUV. It just didn't make sense that there wouldn't be extra precautions against theft on the SUV, not after John stole it in Fragments.
I still want to see Myfanwy somehow find Benton. He seemed rather interested in dinosaurs when they invaded London, so he'd appreciate a pterodactyl, I'm sure!
Ah now the icon that should be an easy question shouldn't it? Only it's from an image rustydog drew and I iconed and, right this moment, I can't remember if it's one we said was public or not...
I'll have to go and look if I've posted it somewhere.
Okay I've cleared it with Rusty (I hope you can cope with crediting both of us if you decide you want one :D)
You can find the original of that icon and a slighty different one of Myfanwy here (http://itsarift-thing.livejournal.com/47360.html) there's also a link to her Myfanwy based fic there, if you are interested.
It was found torched and abandoned and in need of a total rebuild - Rhys has it in one of the lock-ups at his haulage yard and is working on it at weekends. It's his Sunday morning married man *thing*.
In all seriousness that whole scene was obviously just a set up for the estate Ianto's siter lived in being capable of 1) forming a mob so she could sneak out of the house when she needed to meet Ianto in the park. and 2) rioting against the soldiers in the final episode.
Which could have been done if Ianto had taken an ordinary car* IN THE FIRST place - as it wouldn't have made him look like a complete Twat and the SUV would have been destroyed anyway when Jack exploded.
*also the Torchwood SUV is a bit of a giveaway so WHY would she call him think he was a plain old Civil Servant (and so not work Saturdays) with the thing parked outside her window????
Yes exactly- I've said almost the say thing an a bunch of comments now. Since it was never even MENTIONED again it was just STUPID!
And it really could have been solved by three more seconds of conversation between Gwen and Jack in the final scene- the SUV turned up, found some things in the rubble, etc....

It just goes to prove that great minds think alike :D
Yup or even Gwen and Rhys turning up *driving* the SUV....

Gwen and Rhys driving up in the SUV would have been *perfect*
