Crap

Southland's been canceled. It's unlikely any of this season's episodes will air.

NBC is *so* stupid.

I haven't, but I do like a lot of USA's shows, so I'll definitely have to give that one a look.

The conman is played by an actor I really like (who also happens to be GUHworthy) so I'll be turning in

Ooo, looks quite interesting.

The commercials and whatnot I've seen for White Collar are good. And there's definitely a slashgoggle aspect between the two male leads. And the fact Matt Bomer is gorgeous doesn't hurt!

Now that I see that promo, I seem to think that I saw one little blip of a promo at some earlier date. He is pretty damn gorgeous.

USA has been promoting it pretty well- promos here and there for awhile with a lot more showing in the past two weeks. Hopefully it'll create some good buzz.

I think I came across it while perusing the PSYCH page on USA's site. I've yet to really meet a USA show I don't like.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-15 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
USA seems to have hit on an excellent formula of quirky, fun characters yet manage to make a semi-serious show with them

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously, they need to share their secret.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 02:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it has something to do with not treating your viewers like morons, but we all know that won't catch on.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
That'd be too easy and logical.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Um, that you'd like to be thought of as an intelligent human being and not a demographic?

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Is hollywood capable of that?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
If they stopped worrying about the demographics, they could focus on making a decent show.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
But, but, but... then how would they get the advertisers interested?

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Good ratings? Alas, I should know better than that, though. Advertisers want to know who to target, too.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Good ratings? Good ratings... I think I've heard tell of those....

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
They were far more common during the period we like to call "back in the day".

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Back in the day when the shows were good... when the plots were understandable and the actors cute...

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I have the sudden urge to go tell some kids to get off my lawn...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2009-10-16 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen some icons with that. It really is the perfect sentiment

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2009-10-17 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
Or, better yet, "get off the TV, you damn NBC executives!"
