TW canon question

I'd ask over in [community profile] torch_wood but they scare me over there.

Are either Tosh or Ianto vegetarians?

The UK website for the first season contained an IM conversation between Tosh and Ianto following Countrycide. Both of them decided (or implied), in this conversation, to go vegetarian for awhile. I don't know whether they still are at this point in the show, but I know they were at some point (and I can't imagine they'd want to eat meat after Meat).

Furthermore, I'm a dork for actually knowing all this.

That's what I was remembering, yes it's implied, but by no means certain.

Someone put up the IM conversation here:

I love that conversation. The Tosh and Ianto friendship dynamic is one thing I'm really glad they're showing a bit more of this season.

I think though I'm safe if I write Jack talking about taking Tosh and Ianto to a restaurant that they'd only be able to get meat dishes at

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Probably. I'm intrigued, now.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's a Kosher restaurant. So unless you get a salad, you're eating meat. They wouldn't have any sort of other meal option.

(Basically I wanted to be able to make fun of some of the dishes/foods you could find on the menu. Come on, wouldn't Jack have fun at a restaurant that served knockwurst?)

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, god. I can see Jack having fun and Ianto being horrified.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! And Tosh trying to keep the peace...

I'm not going to go overboard, just a few jokes... this is the restaurant http://www.bensdeli.net/

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, wow...you know, I'm probably never going to look at a restaurant menu quite the same ever again.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
I'd apologize, but you'd know I didn't really mean it

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
This sort of thing is expected when Jack is involved.

Why, just today, I had my view of espresso machines forever altered...

Karma, at least, has a sense of humor.

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I decided to be nice- Most of Jack's jokes go unsaid

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I imagine Ianto's about to the point where he sort of knows where Jack's dirty mind might go...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ianto probably figured that out 5 minutes after meeting Jack!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-03-02 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
of course, maybe Jack was a perfect gentleman when they met and we're just casting aspersions on his character... nah.

Did you manage to type that with a straight face?
