One of those days....

Coffee machines work better when turned on.  No really, they do.

I've heard this rumour...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
yet it took me nearly 20 minutes to figure out why it wasn't making it's magical brew.

[identity profile] jadesfire2808.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I think I'd be climbing the walls for coffee before that. Although I have been known to filter the water then pour it straight into the cup rather than into the kettle...

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
At least I actually remembered to add the coffee. I've forgotten to do that before *sigh*

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Really. I must try that sometime.

This is why I like Coke better. Take bottle, open bottle, drink. ... Not to mention that I just don't really like coffee *facepalm*

Facepalmity ensues! Yay!

Learn something everyday, right?

and yes, sodas are much easier in that regard. But it's still too cold here in the mornings for anything other than tea or coffee

[identity profile] chatona.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! I shall add this to my evergrowing list of Wisdom I Learnt From Other People!

I very rarely drink anything containing caffeine in te morning, anyway. And we never have Coke unless I bug my mother. And I don't like coffee. Cold shower usually wakes me up well enough. 's cold, though.

You're still young though, that might change

bwhahahaha! that's great!

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:02 pm (UTC)(link)
So do crock pots, it seems. No breakfast for Rusty when I forget this important fact!

Enjoy your coffee, even if it's a little tardy. :)

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you make in a crockpot that's ready for breakfast?

It's good coffee, really strong and really hot. *sighs happily*

[identity profile] rustydog.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I make a special kind of oatmeal (probably more properly called porridge) that cooks overnight. It's really yummy, but not when the oats have just been soaking in cold water for five hours. :)

Yay for good coffee!

ETA: Oh, and once I made an egg dish in the crock pot for my parents' breakfast. It had grated potatoes, eggs, cheese - I left out the sausage and substituted spinach because I'm a veggie. Pretty good, and so easy!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh- that wouldn't quite work so well would it? hmmm, waking up to warm oatmeal sounds yummy actually. But I lack a crockpot.

ooh- that egg dish does sound yummy (either way for me though)

Makes me glad I don't drink coffee, I'm sure I'd do this too. Have some chocolate!

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh, excellent! thanks!

[identity profile] smithy161.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 07:29 pm (UTC)(link)
You made me lol. I hope you are happy *g*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I eventually figured out why it wasn't burbling happily.

Some mornings it just isn't worth getting up. Oh well!

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
OOOPS

*headsdesk*

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
and it took me 20 minutes to track down the problem... Ooops

[identity profile] mad-jaks.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd say something but it would be recursive :D

[identity profile] donutsweeper.livejournal.com 2008-04-09 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, go for it. you know you want to!

Words of wisdom.

but, unfortunately, needed at times.

[identity profile] the-dark-side.livejournal.com 2008-04-10 08:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, definitely (considering I've totally done that before).
