One of those days....

Coffee machines work better when turned on.  No really, they do.

(no subject)

I was meandering about LJ and found [profile] wtf27  a "Where Crack Comes Home To Roost" community.  Except, where Captain Jack Harkness is concerned, many of their wtf prompts are actually canon...

So out of 26 specific prompts 13 are CANON for Jack between Torchwood and Doctor Who and another two (if not more) are completely in character for Jack.  I find that humorous.

I've been meta-quoted

Further proof I should read my comments more carefully before hitting 'post'...

*hee*

I opened up my bigbang to start working on it for the day and decided to check the word count.

12345 words.  :)

Almost makes me not want to write more because that is just SUCH a cool word count.  Nah....

IT intelligence

No one where I work has been able to access their email accounts so the IT professionals were sent off -site to take a look at the email server. They discovered it's something they can't fix easily and the email system won't be working again until tomorrow at the earliest. So they let everyone know that... by sending a company-wide email, which oddly enough, didn't go through... I wonder why?

Internet, Schmiternet

Saturday morning my internet access decides to die.  I foolishly think that calling the ISP’s customer service number would be a good way to get the problem resolved.

Silly me.

After 8 minutes of wading through an endless voicemail system I finally get to the section dealing with “internet connectivity.”  My choices are “If your access to the internet is unstable, press 1 now, if you do not have any access to the internet at this time, press 2 now.”  So, I press 2.  Then the nice system tells me how there are three online sites devoted to helping me with my internet access difficulties and gives me their web addresses, as well as the ISP’s email address; says “thank you for calling comcast” and hangs up on me.

Really helpful there.  Thanks.

EEEK!!

Under the "Just What the Heck was I Thinking" category I've just signed up for the [community profile] tardis_bigbang challenge.  So now, I've committed to a fic for that, one for [personal profile] karaokegal's come as you aren't party, a promised sequel/continuation to The Old Man, something for this month's [community profile] wintercompanion "Crossing The Line" challenge, a previously unclaimed prompt at [community profile] bringthehappy, and another attempt at a PWP for [personal profile] unfeathered and[profile] fandom_me.  And that's just the stuff I've committed to, not any of the random plot bunnies that are presently attacking me.

And my husband wonders why I never dust anymore.

Memo from Work

Work I received the following memo at work yesterday:

"The pledge forms for your annual United Way donation are due in Ann's office by noon on Friday.  Remember, there is a mandatory 100% participation rate in this voluntary fund drive."

It's "voluntary"... yet "participation is mandatory."  Someone in the head office must be using a different dictionary than I do.  *Sigh*
