The amazing [personal profile] awanderingbard has written a wonderful Nero Wolfe story inspired by my oft requested Yuletide prompt of a hurt Archie and how Wolfe responds. It's utterly amazing, go check it out!

Happy holidays/Winter/Whatever to one and all! I hope you're having a great whatever you're celebrating.

It's raining here (wtf, MN, it was -28F last weekend, possibly even colder after windchill, and now it's 38F and raining?). And I am working my way through the Yuletide collection.

I got an AMAZING FIC. It's a crossover between Nero Wolfe and Longstreet!! (How awesome and surprising is that?) called French Fish and a Nice Dish and is utterly wonderful and everyone should read it and heap praise upon it.

I wrote a bunch (12 fics in the main collection and 5 in madness). As always, I feel they show terribly obvious signs that they are mine, but oh well, what can you do? I'll make a post linking to them post reveals. There's a ton of great fic there, so if you have some time GO READ.

In news of the awesome in nature, faikit on AO3 has translated my MCU fic "Old Dog, New Bun" into Russian!

Oddly enough, my one semester of Russian twenty-mumble years ago isn't enough for me to be able to read it, but it looks awesome and I'm super thrilled they liked my story enough to do a translation of it. If you know any Russian please go take a look at "Старый хот-дог, новая обертка" and drop them a comment or kudos!

(I've been trying to post this for DAYS)

I got three great stories for Yuletide this year

The biggest surprise is a Big Valley drabble, Mothers See, which, amazingly, is the continuation of a story I wrote (for yuletide ironically) a few years back, Brothers Be. I love Big Valley and have asked for it many years in a row now and the fact someone wrote me something based of my own work? I don't think I've stopped smiling since I got it.

Another surprise was actually getting my Heartland prompt filled. I asked for it two years in a row with no real expectation that I'd receive it, but I did and the voices are amazingly spot on and the story exactly what I wanted. I can't wait to find out who wrote me Left the Prairies in My Heart.

My last gift (yes, I actually got three this year! How great is that?) can trace it's origin back to the fact I love the movie Fifth Element, but have *always* felt bad/worried over Korbin's kitty. Korbin Dallas has that gorgeous white cat in his opening scenes and then it just disappears, never to be seen again. Poor thing. Finally there is the answer: The Story of Meow.

Meanwhile I wrote a lot for Yuletide. Like a lot a lot. 14 stories for the main collection and 4 for madness. Like I said, a lot a lot.

Go give a listen and tell them how great it is! :)

In what was a wonderful surprise, lobstergirl on AO3 has translated my Sherlock/Discworld crossover "Yea, Though I Walk" into German!

I am ashamed to admit I'm useless in any language other than English, but it looks wonderful and it's just so exciting she liked my story enough to do the translation. For those of you who know any German, please go take a look at "Und ob ich schon wanderte" and drop her a kudos or comment!

I was scrolling around tumblr when I came across a FANART / ficrec combo for one of my fics!!!

Cloudy With a Chance of Something by donutsweeper

↳ “As Albion’s Sexiest Bachelor for four of the past five years Arthur could have anyone he wanted, but as it happened the one man he wanted was an oblivious baker named Merlin who had no idea who he was."

So excited!!!!!!

[ profile] awanderingbard wrote an absolutely delightful crossover between BBC's Sherlock and the movie The Great Mouse Detective, set immediately post S2 of Sherlock. Go read The Great Mouse Conspiracy. You'll be glad you did.

There's an incredible multifandom vid set to "We Didn't Start The Fire" that encompasses FIFTY years of fandom and fannish delight right here:

There's a whole list of the fandoms there, but ones I noticed were all the Star Treks, Star Wars, Sherlock/Sherlock Holmes, Magnificent Seven, many clips of Doctor Who, Torchwood, Man from UNCLE, MASH, Beauty and the Beast, 21 Jump Street, Red Dwarf, dueSouth, Babylon 5, Community, Merlin, The West Wing, Sports Night, White Collar, Glee, Daily Show, Colbert Report, bost Battlestar Galaticas, Firefly, Harry Potter Musical, Buffy/Angel, and many many more.

It's amazingly well done. Go take a look.

I totally forgot to post this!!

[ profile] diane_mckay did podfics for two of my HDM crossovers, my Torchwood drabble The Artifice Of Eternity (Jack dies but his daemon doesn't) and the Sherlock one Preparing For Change where John and Jorrun meet Sherlock and Dagany for the first time.

Both podfics can be found and downloaded here.

Hysterical fic wherein Danny learns to knit and then crochet because it is supposed to relax him. Meanwhile, there are pineapple cozies and fuzzy hand grenades to hang from the rear view mirror and befuddled Steve and a bad guy or two taken out by needles.

Read, laugh, love

Could Be This Easy

[ profile] tinypinkmouse has recorded a podfic of my Jack/Death/Death of Rats fic, When It All Went Out. You can find her podfic at [ profile] amplificathon here!

She also did my G'Kar/Jack fic, Ships That Pass for the last amplification and you can find it for downloading here.

A Doctor Who video set to the Muppets' song "Moving Right Along" encompassing all the Doctors (through 2008 when it was made) and the majority of their companions giving a humorous look to the Doctor's poor navigation skills.

Watch it, you'll love it, I guarantee it.

[ profile] rustydog has written me the most wonderifficly wowsaworthy birthday ficlet!

Sneak Attack, a Torchwood/Doctor Who/SJA adorable cracky story. Everyone should read it! You'll be glad you did!

Best Bagels in the Galaxy is a short (~800 words)little White Collar/Doctor Who snippet which doesn't really require you know White Collar at all. It's Neal's POV a lovely scene between Jack, Rose and Nine and hits all four characters perfectly. Go read it. You'll be glad you did.

There are a ton of fandoms that people on my flist would probably be interested in and I do recommend just going there and perusing the list (especially since most fandoms only have a few stories), but here are three stories that I particularly recommend:

The Same Place at the Same Time: Torchwood/New Amsterdam crossover (although you don't need to know New Amsterdam to read it), Jack Harkness/John Amsterdam and two immortals meeting time and time again.

West of the River- the continuing story of Huckleberry Finn and Jim's life. Wonderful imagery and voice.

The Mechanical Heart- Sherlock Holmes + steampunk aspects + some Watson h/c thrown in? How can you not love it?

I had two stories written for me, but I've only been able to access one since the treats for Madness haven't opened yet. It is:

Paperclippings, a WONDERFUL "Kolchak the Night Stalker" story (the original, 1974 version). The voice is just perfect and I totally love it.

I wrote five things for yuletide. My original assignment and a last minute pinch hit are the two up now (being the only 2 that are >1000 words) and three others that will be revealed when the madness collection goes live.

If anyone wishes to guess which ones I'll write a fic of their choosing for each correct guess. Some hints.

Two 'long' and three 'short' fics.
Four in one fandom and one in another.
Only one of the two fandoms have I ever written in before.
If you follow my LJ you will have seen me talk about both of the fandoms.

I'll put together a rec list of the various yuletide fics I love once the archive is under a bit less strain and working better. :)

hmmm, the archive might be down at the moment, but try back later, Paperclippings is awesome and there's a lot of great fic there!

Two of my Torchwood fics were remixed for this round of [ profile] remixthedrabble!

[ profile] lilfluffykitten did an amazing remix of Let It Go (my Dom!Owen/sub!Jack story) called A Waiting Game (The Aftercare Remix)

[ profile] melissima did a wonderful remix of a very old drabble of mine (one of the first things I'd written actually), Heritage called Heritage: The Good Girl Remix

Please go take a look and see how wonderful these remixes are!!

I also threw my hat in the ring to have anything of mine remixed. The wonderful results are:

Kissing and Telling (The Jack Harkness was There First Remix) by [ profile] goddess47, a remix of Dying for A Drink. (Torchwood/Vegas!SGA crossover)

Linguistics (The Tower is Babbling Remix) by [ profile] wojelah, a remix of Lightning Dances. (SGA)

The Weight (The In-and-Out Remix) by [ profile] sabinelagrande, a remix of The Wait. (SGA)

*does a little dance*
