Summary: Steve Rogers didn't fit into the modern world, but it was more than the passage of years that set him apart.

WeDieLikeFen was a sort of flashfic exchange that went from opening for signups (there were no noms) to writing to due date to reveals in something like 3 or 4 days. People signed up only with fandoms and tags and that's it - no characters or pairings, no prompt, no DNWs and no guarantee for a fic or that if you weren't matchable you wouldn't have your signup deleted.
As typical of me I didn't signup but I did poke the requests and jumped on the urban fantasy request for MCU since years and years ago I had an idea about the Super Soldier procedure working on Steve the way it did because he was only half human- Red Skull and Hulk, etc were results of it being performed on those who were fully human. I had a million vague ideas about the old ways Steve missed not referring to the 20s&30s but rather being something other worldly related but is now gone and world building bits and whatnot but never plunked my butt down to really do anything with it and this was the perfect opportunity. Given more time this could have been a massive, sprawling AU but I'll take 2k in < 2 days and actually posted.
Anyway, lots of fun fic in the collection, go give a look!
(And now back to working on my NPT pinch hit)
