Yuletide approacheth! And Recs!

Usually I have no issues deciding on my requests for Yuletide. Most years I nom the three I'm interested in and possibly find one (or very rarely 2) other things to ask for. This year however....

I nommed All Souls (haunted hospital 6 ep tv show that no one knows), Strange World (13 ep medical investigation show that no one knows) and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (cracktastical scifi-ish submarine adventure show) as I have for 3 or 4 years now but in the tagset there's also a number of other things I'm interested in. There's the short story "Whatever Happened to Corporal Cuckoo?" (a fascinating short story about what happens when an ordinary guy winds up as a reluctant immortal as told by a reporter) which I suspect no one will know, offer, or ask for but is ripe for plumbing for story ideas. The Cdrama Detective L (Sherlock-esque detective show set in Shanghai in the 30's) which I love (and does have a vague, if tiny presence in the exchange circuit) and two DMBJ (tomb raiding adventure nonsense) Cdramas - Ultimate Note and Lost Tomb Reboot. I can't decide if it'd be weird to ask for two things in the same overall franchise or not but they're set 12 or so years apart and I really love both and the characterizations are so very different.... They (and, humorously, two other DMBJ canons) are both in the tagset so technically it'd be fine, but still. (And both do have a semi-decent presence in the exchange circuit so I could, in theory, get them another time.)

But that is 7 fandoms. There's only 6 request slots. Decisions, decisions.

Signups don't open until tomorrow sometime and will be open through the 23rd so there's still time to decide.

Anyway, have two weeks of recthething fic recs (Nirvana in Fire, MDZS/The Untamed and a crossover between the two):

Nirvana in Fire:

Summary Snippet: Someone has been dropping sweets and assassins at Jingyan's door (and windows). It's not hard to guess who, but harder to figure out what he's doing back in Jinling. (Set post-canon, slightly melancholic but also sweet Fei Liu & Jingyan fic)

Summary: It takes a grand conspiracy to force Mei Changsu into rest. (exactly what it says on the tin and very well done)

Summary: Jingyan was still trying to find a solution when Mei Changsu stumbled behind him - Jingyan whirled around and barely managed to arrest his fall. Up close, Mei Changsu's eyes were glassy, slightly unfocused, and he felt more like an ice statue than a person in Jingyan's arms. It took him several long moments to catch his breath and scramble up, and it was obvious to Jingyan that he wasn't spewing apologies only because he was barely staving off a bad coughing fit. (Jingyan carrying MCS to safety, lovely moment between the two)

Those who live (keep living) by Katharos (series, 5k total)
Description: A loosely connected set of canon compliant fics set after the end of the series. Hopeful. (each focus on a different character- Jingrui, Yijin, and then Jingyan- nice little post-canon snippets)
