OMG huge big blanket project is finally DONE!

It's a little over 84" (or just over 7' or 214cm) by 48"ish (or 4' or 122cm) and dual sided:

and a close look at the two patterns and border

I've written up the pattern I created for it. Hopefully this makes sense?

The pattern uses US terms - ch= chain, sc= single crochet, dc= double crochet, tr = treble/triple crochet, sk = skip, sl st = slip stitch.
Most yarns should work for this project. If your stitches tend to be tight, use the hook at least one size larger than suggested for the yarn.

To start:
Chain an even number of stitches to approximately the width of blanket you want using the suggested hook for your yarn. (I used a K hook, approximately 4000 yards of worsted yarn with a 4-5 gauge and a chain with 138 stitches)
Row 1: (Sc, dc) in 2nd ch from hook, sk next ch, *(sc, dc) in next ch, skip next ch* repeat until only one chain remains and sc in last ch. Turn. (count will be one less than number in foundation chain)
Row 2: Ch 1, (sc, dc) in 1st sc, sk next dc, *(sc, dc) in next sc, sk next dc* repeat until last st, sc in last sc. Turn.
Can repeat row 2 a few times to establish pattern if desired.

Color pattern will be worked in two row sets, starting with the stripe side and then twist side. Note that stripe sides are always done in the front loop only.

Stripe Side Foundation Row: Ch 1, in front loop only (sc, dc) in 1st sc, sk next dc, *(sc, dc) in next sc, sk next dc* repeat to last st, sc in last sc. Drop first color. Turn.
Twist Side Row 1: With second color ch 1, sc in first sc, tr to the first sc of stripe row below (the loop that had been the previous row's unused back loop, see photos below), sk next dc, *sc into next sc, tr into sc of stripe row below, sk next dc* repeat until last st, sc in last sc. Turn.
Stripe Side Row 1: Ch 1, in front loop only (sc, dc) in 1st sc, sk next tr, *(sc, dc) in next sc, sk next tr* repeat until last st, sc in last sc, drop second color. Turn.
Twist Side Row 2: Pick up first color and ch 1, pulling on second color to tighten stitch as needed, continuing with first color sc in first sc, tr to the first sc of stripe row below (the loop that had been the previous row's unused back loop, see photos below), sk next dc, *sc into next sc, tr into sc of stripe row below, sk next dc* repeat until last st, sc in last sc. Turn.
Stripe Side Row 2: Ch 1, in front loop only (sc, dc) in 1st sc, sk next tr, *(sc, dc) in next sc, sk next tr* repeat until last st, sc in last sc, drop second color. Turn.
Repeat Twist and Stripe rows 1 and 2, switching to previous color at each twist row until nearly desired length, ending with stripe side row 2.

To end blanket:
With original color repeat the same number of Row 2 repetitions to match beginning (Ch 1, (sc, dc) in 1st sc, sk next dc, *(sc, dc) in next sc, sk next dc* repeat until last st, sc in last sc. Turn.) After desired number of rows finish off instead of turning or continue to border.

Optional Border:
Round 1 and 2: 3 sc in corner, sc in each row-end across side of blanket (which means there will be two sc per stripe since there are two rows for each color), 3 sc in corner st, sc in each ch across bottom, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each row-end across side of blanket, sc in each st across top, repeat but sl st into last stitch.
Round 3: (Sc, ch 2, sc) in first st, sk next st, (sc, ch 2, sc) in next st, sk next st, repeat down side of blanket until end of row, (Sc, ch 2, sc) in last stitch, Sl st, ch 2, sl st in corner. repeat. After last corner sl st once more into next stitch and then fasten off and weave in ends.

I need to come up with a name for this pattern, it's kind of an adaption of the overlay mosaic technique that makes it continuous and also combining it with seed stitch (I think?) but also with a twist to both. I dunno. If anyone has an suggestions/advice on making the pattern clearer or what to name this, let me know!
