yuletide blatherings and recs

I am debating my requests. It's a matter of just how rare I really want to go. I'm definitely asking for three of the things I nommed: All Souls (the haunted hospital show I've requested for numerous years now, which has no AO3 presence at all), 吸血鬼鬼盲盒 | The Vampires (the modern cultivator and (lesbian coded) vampires Chinese webseries I asked for last year; it actually exists on AO3, but with only a few vids and one Chinese language fic) and Nightmare Cafe (a 30 yr old, quickly cancelled haunted/sentient cafe show that's entire AO3 presence is a handful of things imported in via the old Yuletide website) but other than that....? I just don't know.

While I think there could be a lot of interesting things to come out of a Time Raiders (the steampunk, is-it-all-a-tall-tale AU DMBJ movie which I also nominated) request, DMBJ as a whole is a decent (for Yuletide) sized franchise so it's almost a guarantee that is what I'd get which wouldn't be bad, and I also can't quite settle on anything specific to ask for it.

And there's the amazing yet super weird three minute video that seems like it's a story about a guy (actor Hu Ge) today and his ancient (hundreds/if not a thousand of yrs ago) counterpart who are each pushing themselves (due to ?fate? desire? destiny?) to go on this long trek which ends with climbing this mountain that's never changing even though the world is because 'nothing can stop your journey' and it's so visually beautiful with a great message but then at the end it winds up being an airline ad (go watch it, it's amazing). I don't really have any prompts or specific requests in mind for it though other than a confused-face-what on earth-tell-me-more kind of response to it, which isn't really a proper kind of request.

Sigh. Oh well, I have 6 or so days to think about it and decide if I really want to be an instant pinch hit or not. (And, you know, figure out my offers. There's so many great things in the tagset, so many!)

Summary: Lan Wangji keeps getting the mail of someone called Wei Wuxian delivered to his house. Beautiful purple envelopes with the 魏 无羡 written in a charming handwriting. He decides to get in touch with this Wei Wuxian and, somehow, gets way more than what he bargained for. (cute recently posted modern AU)

Summary Snippet: When investigating a mysterious array set in the forest, six people were sent back to the past where they would relive their lives and make changes to change their future. They all retained their memory, except one. (interesting recently posted time travel fix it)

Summary: At a loss as to how to deal with the frenetic energy that essentially symbolises the head disciple of the Jiang Sect, Madam Yu orders the teenager to take up letter writing in the hope that the time it takes to put words to paper would force the wild boy to calm down just a little bit and put more thought into his actions. In true form he dives right into it, and ends up inventing a new form of correspondence solely for his Lan Zhan and gets far more than he bargained for. (cute canon-divergent AU)

Summary: Another betrayal leaves Wei Wuxian dead and his spirit destroyed with no hope of reincarnation. His husband and son cannot accept this. Hanguang-Jun finds an array that will reverse time to the moment of the subject's birth, carrying back their spiritual cognition. However, no infant could sustain their full adult cognition. Most of the information would be lost. Wen Ning is the only person who could go back with his memory intact, as his cognition is already separated. What would Wen Ning do to protect his friend, and his own family? (great Wen Ning POV time travel fix it)

Supernatural - The Winchester Brothers (brilliant use of shadows in these watercolor paintings)
