Blanket, Rug and Recs

Whelp, that's January. I don't think I'm going to try to go back and do any of the snowflake challenges I missed, not sure why but most just were things very much Not For Me.

I finished another rug! This one made out of bags and thus made for boots and shoes:

20"x12" (30cm x 20) made from 10 hamburger/hotdog bun bags for the runner strip; 7 bread bags and 18 supermarket bagel bags for the working strip.

I'm currently about a third to a half way into a blanket I'm making from a pattern I cobbled together/came up with on the fly to combine the things I liked most from overlay mosaic crochet and basic stripe patterns but to avoid the parts I despise (working in the ends, omg mosaic has so many ends)

so basically, it's stripes-but-with-pattern on one side and twisty color rows on the other

Summary: The thing is, the Cloud Recesses are big and Caiyi is even bigger. (Or, Lan Zhan chooses differently at Qiongqi Path.) (short but believable canon divergent fic after WWX rescues the Wen and hilarious brief LXC and LQR reactions to the result)

Patriarch by WithBroomBefore (26.5k)
Summary: Fix-it AU diverging from canon during the second Nightless City battle. A number of people don't die, but that does not make things easy. (AU where LWJ accidentally becomes a new Yiling Patriarch and WWX doesn't die, sort of)

The Fourth Path by handwritten (onefromanotherworld) (6.5k)
Summary: Wen Chao finds the Yunmeng Siblings and Wei Wuxian after the core transfer and throws them all into the Burial Mounds hoping to trap them there for all eternity. Turns out eternity is not as long as he had hoped for. After months developing a new cultivation path, the Yunmeng trio has come back to take back their sect. (absolutely fascinating demonic cultivating trio AU)

Heart of Glass by Sweetlittlevampire (60k)
Summary: In a world where stained glass is imbued with magic to grant wishes - a practice now forbidden - Lan Wangji tries to navigate through a life in which he thinks himself responsible for his mother's untimely passing. Two works 1)The Porcelain Lotus of Yungmeng. That one where Wei Wuxian doesn't die at the Siege of Nightless City and Jiang Cheng finds him first. and 2) A Place for Fury. That one where Lan Zhan catches up. (Where JC finds an injured and amnesiac WWX a few years after Nightless City and brings him to Lotus Pier and then later LWJ finds him there and what happens then. Very interesting AU)

Lost Oppurtunities by Scarlet914 (6k)
Summary: Mo Xuanyu dies before he could summon Wei Wuxian. The truth still comes out. At the Guanyin Temple, Jin Guangyao reveals everything and brings out a mysterious array to get a second chance. But an unforeseen attack disturbs the array, which leads to an unexpected outcome. Jiang Cheng finds himself in his 7 years old self, safe and sound with his family and sect. Soon enough, he learns that he was not the only one who came back. He vows to be a better brother this time around. But his determination and regret just might be too late. (really interesting idea for a time travel AU with a great JC voice)

I need to actually sit down and look at the requests for Candy Hearts Exchange (candyheartsex) it feels like I haven't written in forever. Oh when will my writing brain return *sigh*
